3. The Engraving

The Elm door banged shut behind Abun Ke and Hathor. A pungent smell filled the air and bright light revealed a long passageway. The light only lit the entry of the passage, a veil of darkness surrounded the end of it. A glint of gold shined amidst the darkness, "What's that Hathor, go and look," Hathor glowed her usual vibrant green, she floated over to it and calmly floated back to Abun Ke, "It's a small stone engraving," Hathor replied, Abun Ke set off towards the engraving, and, when she got there she saw it, it was tiny. Hathor decided to go and explore, after about five minutes of studying the engraving Abun Ke looked up and realised that Hathor was missing, she called out her ka's name and when she saw the emerald green glow she let out a sigh and asked Hathor where she had been, "I've found a use for the it, there is a door at the end of the chamber, there's a picture of a snake at either side but that's the only place we can go." Hathor explained, she started back the other way, and if Abun Ke didn't follow she'd die, Abun Ke picked up the heavy stone and started walking towards Hathor.

When she reached Hathor, her ka had stopped and let Abun Ke go in front of her. Abun Ke took her the stone, it had a golden snake on it and the way the doors open was by making each picture touch. The doors swung forward and she was surprised to see smooth stone walls and bright lights, "It's a maze,"Hathor spoke. Abun Ke was surprised, she strolled down to the wall straight in front of her, her only option was to go right as the left was a dead end. "Come on, lets go," Abun Ke sighed.

Hathor sensed they were coming near the centre of the maze, and, when Hathor saw it she told Abun Ke to look, her companion wailed loudly. Snakes surrounded the centre of the maze, in the centre there was a scroll. The shakes were in quite a narrow pit, narrow enough to jump over if you dare. "The only way to cross is to jump," Hathor explained, "Well so be it," Abun Ke said, determingly. She stepped back, ready for a big run up, then full speed she sped over the pit landing in a crouched position. Hathor was over in a flash, not worrying just staying calm. Abun Ke picked up the scroll, it had hieroglyphics on it:

BE CAREFUL ON YOUR WAY TO THE ELEMENTS. KHUFU'S KA IS PREVENTING YOU AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO STOP YOU.

"Well that makes things much better," whined Abun Ke, "we come here to get one step closer the ankh and what happens, we get more bad news."

Hathor and Abun Ke followed the directions on the scroll, they were apparently coming up to the four passageways. When they saw the passageways Abun Ke bacame confused. Upon each door was a certain picture. One of fire, one of water, one of air and one of earth. Which passage should they choose?
WATER EARTH FIRE AIR
