2. The Hieroglyphics
Abun Ke walked through the passage into a dull chamber. On the wall were hieroglyphics, there were three lines of them, different pictures all confusing her. Hathor glowed green still, Abun Ke walked on nearer to the back wall. She carried on past the blazing fires that lit the chamber. When she had passed the fire a voice sounded out to her. "Translate this puzzle to carry on, if you fail this task you will fail your whole task and you will die."
Hathor glided to the back wall, Abun Ke followed her and started slowly to translate the hieroglyphics. She concentrated and finally realised it wasn't a riddle it was a password. The hieroglyphics had said:
SPEAK THIS PASSWORD AND THE DOORS WILL OPEN FOR YOU, DANGEROUS THINGS LIE BEHIND THIS WALL, BEWARE. THE PASSWORD IS KHUFU THE KING.
"Speak the password Abun Ke and let's see what lays before us." Hathor ordered. "KHUFU THE KING" Abun Ke shouted, she stepped back when she heard the creaking, the doors suddenly swung open and revealed a room with a box. A small box with gold lining, it smelt musty and looked old. As Abun Ke and Hathor strolled to the chest the doors swung shut as fast as they opened.

Abun Ke bent down to the chest and flicked the lid over to expose a dusty map. It was rolled up and sealed. Abun Ke opened it carefully and saw nothing but the map of Khufu's chamber. "That's a great help" she moaned. "Strange, there's writing at the bottom, I'm not sure what it says, but it's pointing to something outside the kings burial chamber." whispered Abun Ke. "Let me see if I..." Hathor's voice trailed off, there was a moment off silence, they both heard faint footsteps echoing off the wall, the thing or person must have been behind the secret walls as the voice spoke again, bolder this time and louder. "We better go in a minute, but which way out?" Abun Ke pointed at four doors, which one should they go through?
