YEAR SIX POETRY

Metaphor Poems

Rocky is a video recorder fast forwarding and
Rewinding,
Like a Cheetah
Hunting for food,
He is Coca-Cola letting out
His fizz,
The planet Pluto so far away
In his mind,
Rocky is a cloudy day,
A sports car is he, speeding up every minute,
He is a dustbin and doesn't know much,
A palm tree blowing
In the wind,
Steak, cake and cough sweets,
Hard, soft and kind,
The number 42,
Always fighting and he can do it
Twice,
He is all hours,
Up all the time,
He is Nike trainers,
That's why he goes so fast,
Like a candle flame
He sleeps,
He is my pet dog,
I love him very much,
He is fun to play with,
Like a toy,
That's my pet dog.

Metaphor Poems

My Hamster 'Garfield' is the Sun shining,
..... A clock ticking in the night,
..... The colour yellow bright and startling.

He's a merry-go round going round and round,
..... A bed long and wide,
..... The whole world, everything.

Garfield's Pluto cold and small but nice,
..... A little boy playing in the sand,
..... The soft smell of a rose.

Garfield the love of my life.
