Hello to all. Just a quick note, I was a student at Wallerscote in 1974 at which time my father
Melvyn Donegan whom worker for Rolls Royce Motor Cars in Crewe was transfered to the
United States. I have only had the chance to return home twice since leaving Weaverham - most
recently in March of 2000. The next time that I am home I hope to have enough time to visit the
school. Please say hello to Mr Eric Redford who is a close family friend and feel free to
provide him with my email address so he may contact me.

All the best for now.

I was at pupil at Wallerscote up until 1976 and have very fond memories of my
time there. In 1976 we won the local schools cricket competition - the
Gaukroger Shield - very much against the odds. A very kind person who
wished to remain anonymous donated individual trophies to each player.
I still have my trophy and often wonder who donated them. Can anyone
reveal the identity of this mystery person? If not I would just like to
say thanks anyway as it meant an awful lot to me as a 10 year old boy.

- nice website

Excellent site.
I was a pupil between 1957-60 My three brothers and 2 sisters akso attended after me.
We lived in Gleave Road Owleywood. I recall my last year. Mr HOLT was the teacher.
He gave the class a 20 minute mental test each Friday at 11am 20 questions.
If you got less than 17 out of 20 he wacked your outstretched hand
with a very short thick cane he had.
It worked after 2 weeks no one got less than 19.
He taught the class well ready for our 11 plus. Happy days.

I wish the school well. have enjoyed the site brings back lots of memories.

what a wonderful site.
i am thinking of moving to the area and wanted to check out the schools first.
i have three children and two of them would be going to a local school,
with my youngest joining in a few years.
your school looks a very nice place to learn and i think my children would
like it. your village also looks a good place to live with lots of clubs to go
to. my little girl goes to our local brownies, shes 9 and my little boy wants
to go to beavers, hes 4. i think i will come and visit your village and
maybe i will come and see your school as well.
hope you all have a lovely day.
Emma.

Enjoyed the village tour. My school friends were Irene Ollerton, Jean Farrington,
Barbara James, Dorothy Hewit, Elisabeth Watkins, Diane and Sandra Jones and many
more. I think the no. of pupils in my class was 49.

Peter Blair
laughalot@myself95.fsnet.co.uk

I was at the school in the fifties leaving at 1958 I think.
I remember Mr.Birtwistle, Mr Holt, Miss Perry, Mrs Wynne and Mr Roskell was the head master.
Mrs Hogg was the dinner lady we used to play Hoggy spy.
People I remember in the class were heather craig, peter wright, kenny yates, kathleen lewis,
sandra wright, rosalie nicholson, pamela acton, rosemary acton, william newton, roger minshull,
viven nodem, hazel clark, pamela allman, graham ... kathleen millington, meryl griffin,
pauline steel, david rogers, anne parker, david anderson who emigrated to australia while we
were there and others.
It seems quaint now that we used to be given a third of a pint of milk free every day -
the only power I have ever had in my life was milk monitor and prefect at the school.
nice web site - brings back memories.

Greetings to all students and staff of the Wallerscote County Primary School. I am writing
because my family roots descend from the original Wallerscote Hall. Sadly, I understand the
hall was torn down in the 1920's to make room for a chemical works. Such is progress.
Our family surname is derived from what may have been the town/ village or hundred of
Little Over. In Norman times this was spelled Litel Oure. Hence Litel Oure to Littler.
From reviewing your web site I made note of the fact that you currently have few e-mail
partners in the USA. As a recent immigrant to the USA from Canada I would very much
enjoy corresponding with anyone at your Wallerscote school.
With kindest regards
I remain
Yours truly

Long may the wonderful work of Wallerscote School continue.
Its impact on the youngsters of the village must not only be for
the good of them whilst they are at Wallescote but will see them in
later life as fine citizens able to take a part in the life of the
communities fortunate enough to have them.

Our school is located close to the Mexican border in San Diego county.
We only have 300 learners in our entire school. Our area is very rural.
Most of our families earn their living in agriculture, law enforcement ,
mostly Border Patrol, or commute to other nearby towns.
I think youÕd find the most unique aspect of our school is the fact that
almost one fourth of our school community is comprised of

and area in which you live. I see from your web page you
have snow there also. We have had a lot of snow the past
few weeks record-breaking amounts. There is a ski hill very
close to us, so many of us are able to enjoy the snow skiing.
Take care and I will have my students write to you soon.
